Hands on Science

What engages very young children? Things that young children can see, touch, manipulate, modify and situations that allow them to figure out what happens is what engages them. They love to investigate which is the very stuff of science. These experiences help them to form ideas and gain understanding of the world.
The young students were given digital microscopes to investigate objects they had picked whilst walking in the school garden. To their amazement they could see things they cannot see with their naked eyes. The look of surprise when they found bugs hidden in a plant was wonderful to watch.

The young students were very interested in caterpillars and flowers.  Besides observing on the digital microscope, they could also touch and feel these creatures and plants.

  1. Very interesting videos, it shows that the children all enjoyed the activity very much, especially the bee hive and the caterpillars.
